This page is for customers who have already pre ordered PVS Door Pods. It shows the latest production sample, what is complete, what we are still tuning and how the shipping queue will work.

We know that many of you have been waiting for a long time for this product. The goal of this page is to keep you informed and show you that we are working toward a result that feels finished, not rushed.
Current Status
Where The Project Sits Today
Tooling is operating, parts are coming off the press, and the latest sample is very close but still short of the standard we want to send out.

The latest production set has been installed on a door card and photographed. It matches the intended design, the pods sit correctly on the card and the overall look is where we want it.

When we say 99 percent complete, that is not marketing. The last few details are small but noticeable. If we shipped this version now, some of you would see those details every time you opened the door.

We are adjusting the tooling so that the final parts have cleaner transitions, more consistent edges and a finish that feels like a factory level part.

What Is Already Final And Approved
These items are signed off and will not change unless we find a serious issue in final testing.
Design And Structure
  • Overall Door Pod design and geometry.
  • Fitment on the door card with correct clearances.
  • Speaker grille pattern and layout.
  • Mounting points and fastener locations.
  • Internal structure for strength and long term use.
Production status. The shape, mounting and structure are locked. The remaining work is surface and edge refinement, not a redesign.
Real tools and queue. We are working from production tooling, not 3D prints. Your place in the queue stays tied to your original order date. That only changes if you cancel for a refund.
Speaker Fitment

The pods are built around common 6x9 and 6.5 inch speakers. The photos below show the pods at the maximum cutout sizes.

Size limits. 6x9 cutout 237 mm by 170 mm. 6.5 inch round cutout up to 170 mm. If your speaker template is larger than this it will not sit correctly or seal as intended.
That Last 1 Percent
What We Are Still Fixing
Small details that most people will not see on photos, but you will notice in person. These are the reasons we are holding production.
  • Edge transitions between the pod body and door card need to feel more consistent side to side.
  • Certain radii and corners need a slight rework so they match each other more closely.
  • Surface texture in some areas needs to match the rest of the part so it does not look patchy.
  • Gap and flush checks during install need a little more tolerance so installs are repeatable.

These points are small compared to the work already completed. Fixing them now means you bolt your set in once and enjoy it rather than seeing small flaws every day.

Speaker Fitment
Cutout Sizes The Pods Are Designed For
These are the maximum recommended cutout sizes at the speaker opening.
  • 6x9 speaker, maximum cutout 237 mm long by 170 mm wide.
  • 6.5 inch speaker, round cutout up to 170 mm diameter.

If your speaker template is larger than these numbers it will not sit correctly in the grille area. Always check your speaker manufacturer cutout dimensions before trimming your door card.

How Production Will Run From Here
We cannot give a firm date yet. The steps below show how your order moves from tooling to your door.
Step 1

Tooling tweaks and test shots. We repeat this until we are happy with the surface and fitment.

Step 2

Final sign off sample installed and checked. This is the point where we lock the design.

Step 3

Main production run. Parts are produced, packed and lined up against the pre order list.

Step 4

Shipping in order of purchase. You will receive tracking details once your set leaves the workshop.

Our honest view right now. It is likely that shipping will roll into the start of the new year. If that changes in either direction, we will update this page and email you again.

Do I Need To Do Anything To Keep My Pre Order
No. If you are happy to stay in the queue, you do not need to do anything. Your order and your place in line stay as they are.
Can I Change My Shipping Address
Yes. Email info@pvsautomotive.com.au with your order number and your new address. We will update it before dispatch.
Will You Ship Early Or Partial Versions
No. We will not ship the 99 percent version. Everyone in the queue will receive the same final version once the tooling is signed off.
What If I Cannot Wait Any Longer
We understand that builds change. If you prefer a refund instead of waiting through this last stage, email info@pvsautomotive.com.au with your order number and the subject line Door Pod refund. We will process a refund for you and confirm by email.
Will Asking For Updates Move Me Back In The Queue
No. Asking questions, replying to the update email or talking with the team does not affect your place in the queue.
